As we all are aware that the nationwide Lockdown currently version 4.0 has cause increase in price of all consumable goods be it rice, daal or steel, cement. The prices has been steadily rising due to limited supply of products due to most manufacturing units being forced to work at under capacity due to lack of labourers or being stuck in redzones or lack of rawmaterial. Farming is also impacted due to lockdown, as there is lack of transportation of farmed products as well as lack of wholeseller as many sellers are being non-operational due to fear of infection or imposed restrictions. Further, the rice puff industry is especially impacted, as the ricepuff rice is mostly supplied from West bengal which has seen numerous COVID cases, resluting in shutting down of many muri making industries. Further, the recent cyclone Amphan has caused severe damage to the planted crops thereby severely affecting rice output which is Bengal’s most planted food grain. As such, the already short supply has taken a further hit, causing the price of rice to surge higher. Thus, in the present times, the cost of Muri may prevail on the higher end and may put additional burden on the everyday consumer.

Shudhahar is dedicated to supplying food at the best price and will continue to provide Muri at the earlier price and quantity. We will shoulder the burden of price surge of rice puff and continue our commitment to provide “pure food” reasonably.
